Minimization of Control Error and Frequency variation in Two Area based Load Frequency Control using GA Tuned Fractional PIλDμ Controller by Reducing Integral Absolute based Error
In order to provide adequate, dependable, highquality electric power, one of the most important aspects of power system management and control is automatic generation control, sometimes referred to as load frequency control. A generator’s output power is adjusted by the feedback control system AGC to maintain a defined frequency. Control schemes are necessary for efficient and economical handling of all aspects of power dynamics. Since current LFC system parameters are frequently adjusted using trial-and-error methods, traditional approaches, and experiences, they are unable to deliver sufficient dynamic performance across a wide range of operating situations and load scenarios. In the present work, the influence of performance indice Integral Absolute error is mitigated by employing Genetic Optimization tuned controllers to evaluate and exhibit the response for a Two area system with variations in load and frequency. PID controllers and PID controllers with fractional orders is utilized to migitate the error. A comparison between the two tuned controllers and the simulation results is shown.
