Exploring the Link between Corporate Sustainability and Organizational Performance in Indian Public Companies
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between organisational success and corporate sustainability in publicly traded Indian enterprises. Variables for corporate sustainability and non-financial organisational performance were created by academics using text analysis of 281 sustainability reports from a sample of 100 companies between 2016 and 2019. Indices of financial success were developed using accepted research as a basis. Companies were divided into groups based on the level of corporate sustainability (DCS) in order to examine the connections between organisational success and corporate sustainability. The non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test revealed a statistically significant variation in these groups’ medians. To show these associations, boxplot graphs were used. The results showed a favourable correlation between an organization’s organisational performance-both non-financial and financial-and its DCS. The ROE (Return on Equity) and ROA (Return on Assets) variables, however, did not show any discernible changes. This study adds to the body of knowledge on performance assessments by concentrating on factors other than only the financial and economic. It also emphasises how publicly traded Indian corporations can use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a gauge of corporate sustainability.
