A Noise-Shaping SAR-assisted Pipelined MASH DT/CT Hybrid DSM
This paper presents a Noise-Shaping SAR-assisted Pipelined MASH DT/CT Hybrid Delta-Sigma Modulator (DSM). Continuous-time (CT) DSMs are known for their anti-aliasing capabilities, but high-order DSMs face stability and dynamic range issues. The proposed architecture overcomes the quantization noise (QN) leakage problem of multi-level noise shaping (MASH), demonstrating significant improvements in power efficiency and robustness against process variations. The modulator is clocked at 800 MHz and consumes 6.7 mW of power achieving 81.5dB DR, 88.2dBc SFDR, and 78.5dB SNDR at a 20 MHz BW.
