Benchmarking Service Recommendations Made Easy with SerRec-Validator
Service recommendation has emerged as a prominent research area in recent years, attracting considerable attention due to its ability to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. Nevertheless, a significant limitation within this domain is the assessment of service recommendation models, which is essential for evaluating their performance and efficacy. Although evaluation metrics such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Mean Square Error (MSE) are widely employed in scholarly studies, these metrics often do not accurately capture the system's real-world performance. This discrepancy renders the evaluation of recommender systems a complex issue that demands meticulous consideration and further investigation. In this paper, we seek to tackle the difficulties related to benchmarking and assessing service recommendations by introducing a novel framework named “SerRec-Validator.” This framework offers an extensive array of evaluation metrics and practical use cases designed to streamline the benchmarking and evaluation processes.
