Novel AES Algorithm Design
In the digital communication era, data security is of paramount importance. To address the associated risks, various cryptographic algorithms have been developed to protect against side-channel attacks during data transmission between sender and receiver. Among these, the AES algorithm is a widely used cryptographic technique that ensures data sent from the sender is securely encrypted and processed through multiple stages, making it challenging for unauthorized users to decrypt the information intended for the receiver. This study presents a novel mixed column operation design that not only improves efficiency in terms of power, area, and timing parameters but also increases the size of the encrypted text. This enhancement reduces the decryption process to a brute-force approach, relying on trial and error for cryptanalytic attackers. The simulations were carried out using EDA Playground, with synthesis performed using the Cadence Genus Tool in a 45nm technology environment.
