Facial Emotion Recognition Through Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
With the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI), this study endeavoured to investigate emotion recognition. The exploration revolved around the detection and comprehension of human emotions; a task historically acknowledged as challenging. However, AI demonstrated the potential to usher in a paradigm shift within this industry. Facial expressions were subject to analysis through AI-based emotion detection systems, enabling a deeper understanding and identification of human emotions. Accuracy in recognition of emotion was achieved by using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in the image analysis component of facial expressions, thereby playing a crucial role. The implications of this research resonated across diverse domains, including sentiment analysis, emotion-aware systems, and educational technology, highlighting the importance of emotions in decision making and social interactions. To grasp the foundational principles of emotion recognition, the paper meticulously laid the groundwork, establishing a fundamental understanding of emotions. The discussion then delved into the analysis of facial expressions, which served as abundant resources for emotion recognition. For facial expressions, CNNs were employed to extract and analyse features, enhancing the precision of emotion detection. This study functioned as a primer for those intrigued by the captivating realm of AI-based emotion detection. It not only illuminated the foundational concepts within the field but also underscored its transformative potential in reshaping human-computer interactions and emotion detection technology, marking significant progress and laying the groundwork for a future in which AI, including CNNs, is ubiquitously employed.
