130 GBaud PAM-4 1-to-4 Analog Demultiplexer for Wireline and Optical Receivers in 130-nm SiGe
A 130 GBaud PAM-4 1-to-4 analog demultiplexer (ADEMUX) in 130-nm SiGe process is presented. Continuous-time linear equalizers (CTLE) are implemented at both the input and output stages to compensate for the channel insertion loss (IL). To eliminate the noise feedthrough of the track-and-hold amplifier (THA), an improved topology based on feedforward capacitors is proposed, which employs smaller capacitors than the conventional topologies to further extend the bandwidth. Simulation results show that the ADEMUX is capable of demultiplexing 130-GBaud PAM4 signaling. The core of ADEMUX dissipates 1.98 W power from a 3.3 V supply.
