A Meta-analytic Study of the Impact of Virtual Reality Technology on Learning Outcomes
Virtual Reality (VR) is an interactive system simulation technology with multi-source information fusion, at present, domestic and foreign research on whether the integration of virtual reality technology into teaching can effectively improve students' learning effects have different claims, and the study results differ significantly. This study adopts a meta-analytic approach to quantitatively analyze 36 experimental or quasi-experimental research papers on "virtual reality technology" and "learning effectiveness." It was found that 1) virtual reality technology positively and positively affects the overall learning outcomes of students (combined effect value of 0.65), and 2) the effects of virtual reality technology applied to teaching are also influenced by moderating variables such as academic level, subject, teaching cycle, teaching place and type of knowledge.
