Design and Effectiveness Analysis of a Human-AI Dialogue Mode for Promoting Students' Reading Comprehension
In the era of artificial intelligence, faced with the dilemma of the traditional reading mode's lack of interactivity and interest, which significantly hampers the enhancement of learners' reading comprehension and the cultivation of higher-order thinking abilities, this study proposes a Human-AI dialogue reading mode based on dialogue theory, which consists of six phases, including focus, inquire, debate, explore, generate, and evaluate. It is designed to provide students with a clear and orderly reading path, and promote active participation and in-depth interaction in reading through diversified reading tasks and personalized feedback. The study further examined the effect of the Human-AI dialogue (HAD) reading mode on students' ability to ask questions during reading, using the traditional reading mode and the Human-AI dialogue reading mode to conduct two rounds of reading among 112 college students, and found that the application of the Human-AI dialogue reading mode significantly improved the quantity and quality of the questions students asked after reading.
