Double Voltage Gain Switched Capacitor Inverter with APOD PWM Technique
Switched capacitor-based multi-level inverters (MLIs) have gained popularity, particularly in high-AC voltage applications and renewable energy systems. The switched capacitor (SC) technique, aiming for the required output voltage magnitude, strategically utilizes fewer DC sources based on the capacitor voltage. Designing a highly efficient MLI with reduced sources and switches demands meticulous efforts. Double voltage Gain Switched Capacitor (DVGSCI) topology, powered by a single source, employing fewer capacitors, switches, and diodes compared to other SC-MLI topologies is presented. The suggested DVGSCI efficiently generates nine output voltage levels by balancing the voltages of two capacitors. The Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD) approach is applied to the DVGSCI to enhance the output voltage quality.
