Design of PET-based Flexible HALAL Logo Multiband Antenna for Mobile and Wireless Communications

In the evolving landscape of modern communication systems, the need for multiband antennas has been driven by the diverse frequency requirements of various technologies. This paper presents an innovative multiband antenna design inspired by the official HALAL logo, a symbol widely used in Indonesia. The proposed antenna is designed to work across five frequency bands for mobile and wireless communications. The antenna is developed using a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate, coated by copper conductive paint for the radiating element, and an aluminum foil for the groundplane. By utilizing a flexible PET substrate, the antenna can be concealed and integrated into flexible devices. This design not only fulfills technical requirements but also integrates cultural elements. The antenna is also performed in bending conditions to assess its performance, mimicking practical circumstances. The effects of bending conditions on its functionality are thoroughly investigated. The results demonstrate that the HALAL logo-inspired antenna maintains robust performance across all five frequency bands, even under bending conditions, highlighting its suitability for compact, flexible, and aesthetically pleasing communication devices.
