Development of an Oblong Patch Antenna for single V-Band(47 GHz) with Enhanced Efficiency through Slot Modifications
This research article exhibits a novel design for compact microstrip antenna tailored for applications in the V-band. Featuring a return loss of -32.05 dB, the 47 GHz rectangular antenna exhibits excellent signal transmission and reception. The design incorporates interconnected rectangular and circular patches, resembling mathematical symbols, on a substrate of Rogers RT/Duroid 5880, having a thickness of 0.254 mm. It operates within a frequency range of 46.3-47.7 GHz. The antenna was designed using HFSS software, resulting in an impedance of 52.29 ohms. The design offers robust directional signal transmission and reception, maintaining excellent performance even over long distances. It exhibits excellent diversity performance, making it suitable for 5G devices, mobile networks, and wireless technology. The paper evaluates parameters such as E-plane and H-plane, Total gain, VSWR, and reflection coefficients.
