ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF RENOVATION OF VANADZOR THERMAL POWER PLANT /
From the point of view of efficient use of fuel and energy resources and energy security, the construction of new thermal power plants equipped with modern equipment is of great importance. This will allow more efficient use of organic fuel and solve many environmental problems. Currently, the world's reserves of organic fuel are depleted, and there is an urgent need to more efficiently use the fuel delivered to Armenia - natural gas. It is proposed to install gas turbine units with a total capacity of 100 MW on the territory of the Vanadzor Thermal Power Plant. This will allow producing up to 700 million kWh of electricity annually. A comparison was made with a condensing unit of the same capacity. The annual fuel savings are 48 thousand tons of fuel or 7.2 billion drams, the buyback period is 7 years. Studies prove that in case of reconstruction, we will also get better environmental solutions: a sufficient amount of nitrogen oxides, sulfur and other toxic substances will not enter the environment. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the need to build a TPP equipped with new type gas turbine units in the city of Vanadzor, Republic of Armenia. The work used the basic laws of classical thermodynamics, as well as balance equations. The need to re-equip the Vanadzor TPP with the installation of 4 gas turbines is substantiated. Compared to a condensing power unit, it is possible to save 48 thousand tons of fuel or 7.2 billion drams per year. The proposal can be applied not only at the Vanadzor TPP, but also anywhere in RA.
