Media Review: Neo-Luddites, Unite! Worker resistance in an era of real dystopian threats
Legend has it that every time someone says the word ‘Luddite’ out loud, somewhere in Silicon Valley a tech executive is jolted awake, bathing in sweat. In contemporary usage, Luddite has become a derogatory term of sorts, used to refer to people who are ‘against progress’ and afraid of technological change. Or could it be that this historic resistance group is misunderstood, and that we have something to learn from them about our own agency in the future of work?
