The primary objective of this paper is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the Qur’ān through an analysis of select teachings from Sūrah Al-Munāfiqūn, highlighting its ethical and social significance and its potential impact on shaping behaviour and interpersonal relations within the community. Various commentaries on the Qur’ān are referenced and quoted throughout the paper. The author focuses on the etymology and interpretation of the terms an-nifāq (النفاق) and al-munāfiq (المنافق), providing a brief commentary on the 63rd Qur’anic sūrah, titled Al-Munāfiqūn (Hypocrites). The paper also presents a series of traditions that allow certain characteristics of the actions and nature of hypocrites, two-faced individuals, to be observed and discerned, with considerable emphasis on the remarkably large number of Qur’ānic verses addressing this category of people.
