TERM FOR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION IN THE EVENT OF ACQUIRING A VEHICLE IN THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND BY WAY OF INHERITANCE.REMARKS DE LEGE LATA AND DE LEGE FERENDA

As of January 1, 2024 vehicle registration was introduced within 30 days from the date of their acquisition (Article 73aa(1) of the Act of 20 June 1997 - Road Traffic Law). Pursuant to this provision, in the case of acquiring a vehicle by inheritance, this period runs from the date the court’s decision accepting the inheritance or drawing up the inheritance act becomes final. In the article discussing the indicated legal regulation. The aim of the article was to characterize the term for submitting an application for vehicle registration, to analyze this term and the possibilities of meeting it. The term for submitting an application for registration of a vehicle acquired through inheritance is the same for both methods of inheritance and exactly the same as in the case of acquiring a vehicle in a different way. The article presents both modes of acquiring inheritance and the differences between them. This is necessary to evaluate term for submitting an application for vehicle registration and the possibilities of meeting them. The article describes de lege lata and de lege ferenda remarks.
