Financial literacy perception of individual micro-entrepreneurs in Paço do Lumiar – MA

The objective of the research is to analyze the perception of financial literacy in the business management of local micro-entrepreneurs, seeking to understand their level of knowledge, financial behavior, and financial attitude. To achieve this, a quantitative, cross-sectional, and descriptive study was conducted with 72 micro-entrepreneurs. The research results revealed that although the interviewed entrepreneurs demonstrate solid financial behavior and attitudes, they still face challenges in improving their financial knowledge. This is evident in the proportion of the sample that showed a limited understanding of basic financial concepts, such as compound interest and inflation, which play a significant role in the entrepreneur's daily activities. This gap suggests a lack of specialization in fundamental aspects of financial management.
