Specifics of Primary Data Collection in Carrying Out an Investigative Experiment in Transport Crime Cases

Along with the goals of the investigative experiment specified in Art. 181 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Russia, the author singles out another goal of this investigative action: the collection of initial data for the appointment of a forensic transport examination. Based on the studied practice of investigating transport crimes (involving vehicles of road, rail and inland water transport), this article discusses the organization and features of the use of special knowledge when collecting initial data for a forensic transport examination during an investigative experiment. Names of forensic transport examinations are taken from the decisions of investigators on the appointment of a forensic examination.
