Molecular Design Strategy for Meta‐Substituted Aromatic Organic Halides in Zero‐Lead‐Release Halide Perovskites with Efficient Waterproof Light Emission (Adv. Funct. Mater. 6/2025)

Halide Perovskites In article number 2408323, Eva M. Herzig, Ho-Hsiu Chou, Hao-Wu Lin, and co-workers propose a novel molecular design strategy for synthesizing large linear aromatic organohalides and incorporating them into quasi-2D perovskites. The robustness of the resulting materials is demonstrated by their high emission quantum efficiency and negligible lead release upon direct water immersion, showcasing an effective approach to achieving environmentally benign halide perovskites.

Abstract

Halide Perovskites In article number 2408323, Eva M. Herzig, Ho-Hsiu Chou, Hao-Wu Lin, and co-workers propose a novel molecular design strategy for synthesizing large linear aromatic organohalides and incorporating them into quasi-2D perovskites. The robustness of the resulting materials is demonstrated by their high emission quantum efficiency and negligible lead release upon direct water immersion, showcasing an effective approach to achieving environmentally benign halide perovskites.
