Study on the Operation Optimization of Hybrid Energy Storage System Counting Lithium-ion-liquid Current Batteries
In response to the diverse time-span energy storage demands, a hybrid energy storage system operation optimization strategy that integrates lithium-ion and liquid-fluid batteries is proposed. The strategy begins with a thorough examination of the operational mechanisms and energy storage traits of lithium-ion batteries and all-vanadium liquid current batteries, emphasizing their synergistic roles in energy management. Following this, a dual-layer optimization model for the hybrid energy storage system is meticulously devised and streamlined into a unified mixed-integer linear programming framework, leveraging the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) condition to ensure a robust solution approach. To validate the model, a case study at a scenic base in Qinghai Province is conducted, quantifying operational enhancements under diverse scenarios. The analysis reveals a post-implementation increase in total revenue by 5.47%, and a notable reduction in wind and solar curtailment by 23.38%, underscoring the economic and operational merits of the hybrid system and demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing renewable energy utilization and economic efficiency.
