A Paper of RF Low Noise Amplifier Using Ku Band
LNA is short for low noise amplifier and it is a fundamental active component in RF chain reception. It has to meet a line of specifications including power gain, noise figure, insertion loss, and even power consumption. A two-stage LNA working in the band 12–18 GHz employs active biased circuitry as well as inductive source degeneration topology to achieve high gain and low noise. Such stability analysis is performed in the software environment of ADS employing stability coefficients while the input and output impedance are tuned using a Smith chart as reference. For the entire system operating in this frequency band, journals report design approaches that are mostly hybrid or MMIC in nature. Inductors and capacitors are chosen to gain and noise figure performance targets. The workshop is configured and programmed in ADS for practical use in the field.
