Improved Flower Pollination Algorithm Based Optimum Design of Reinforced Concrete Retaining Walls
In civil works, the structural design is thoroughly tied into experiential knowledge and design experiences. According to the suitable design are produced to durability, operability, strength. The Improved Flower Pollination Algorithm (IFPA) mimics the process of flower species and its update mechanism is derivative from flowers pollination process. The Reinforced Concrete (RC) retaining wall attaining an optimum solutions. To overcome this, the IFPA into optimal structural design of retaining wall with 6 autonomous design variables are determined. It significantly minimizes the wall cost according to IFPA parameters and produces better performance. The result quality enhanced for p values among 0.4-0.8. The better IFPA is attained through applying switch probability p=0.5 subsequently it displays both minimum variation coefficients and best average costs. The maximum, average and minimum costs are attained through six IFPA and its variation coefficients. Lastly, the parametric optimum design demonstrates that optimal cost of RC retain wall enhances by wall height.
