HealthGuard Blockchain-Enabled Medical Record System
The Health-Guard system addresses critical challenges in electronic medical health record (EMHR) management, such as data security, privacy, and interoperability issues in traditional systems. By utilizing blockchain technology, the system adopts a decentralized approach to encrypt and immutably store patient records, protecting against unauthorized access and data breaches. Automated access control through smart contracts ensures adherence to privacy standards while facilitating secure sharing of records among healthcare providers. The integration of the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) for off-chain storage optimizes the handling of large medical files while maintaining a lightweight blockchain structure. Testing results reveal substantial improvements in data security, with enhanced resistance to unauthorized access, increased interoperability across healthcare institutions, and more coordinated patient care. This framework represents an advancement in EMHR management, meeting the demands of modern healthcare with enhanced reliability and efficiency.
