The Infrastructure-an Indicator of Sustainable Development and Consumption in Integrated Plans of Bulgarian Cities
This paper focuses on urban infrastructure as an indicator of sustainable consumption at the city level. To achieve the objective of the study, three cities in Bulgaria were selected - the capital city - Sofia; a large regional city - Varna; and a small university city - Svishtov. The aim is to establish the presence or absence of regional differences by comparing the municipalities’ integrated development plans for 2021-2027 4. Energy efficiency programs and their implementation are analyzed. The study results can serve as a guide for future comparative analysis of sustainable urban development strategies within the EU and an examination of these strategies’ impact on achieving its various objectives.
