Study on the Insensitivity Performance of Propellant Charge Container Using Finite Element Method

If the internal charge of a propellant charge container explodes or the container is destroyed due to external impact, it can cause significant danger to the surroundings. To reduce this risk, the developed propellant charge container needs to confirm its performance through insensitivity tests. In this study, we researched a propellant charge container with excellent insensitivity performance through shape improvement. Using finite element method, we verified the performance of the improved design shape and produced a propellant charge container reflecting the analysis results. The manufactured propellant charge container was tested through insensitivity tests to confirm its performance.
