Advancements in offshore gravity and seabed displacement monitoring for gas fields and CCS projects
This paper explores the applications of seafloor gravimetry and subsidence monitoring in offshore fields, focusing on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrocarbon reservoir management. Using a case study in the Norwegian continental shelf, we demonstrate the effectiveness of these measurements in monitoring reservoir dynamics and improving recovery strategies. We discuss also a feasibility study to illustrate the potential of using this technology to ensure the conformance and containment of injected CO2.
