Future data strategies for 4D carbon sequestration reservoir monitoring
Increasingly larger volumes of valuable surveillance data are being generated and delivered from commercial scale carbon sequestration and other low-carbon energy geologic storage projects as part of the energy transition. This digital data avalanche presents an opportunity to adopt and adapt future data management technologies, reducing cycle times for finding, accessing, interoperating, and reusing data sets. Increasing the value of information over time in decadal geologic storage projects will create measurable standards for understanding reservoir behavior and geomechanics.
