First time-lapse imaging at Liza field with co-processing and LS migrations
In this paper, we present a case study focusing on the implementation of 4D imaging techniques at Liza field, offshore Guyana. Our study leverages two multi-sensor streamer data sets spanning a two-year production period of Liza Phase-1. We demonstrate the efficacy of transitioning from parallel 3D processing to advanced 4D co-processing techniques, which effectively mitigates various non-repeatability challenges and enhances the fidelity of 4D products. In addition, we illustrate the value of employing least-squares migration to address illumination differences and migration artifacts associated with migration holes after 4D trace selection. These improvements could be critical for field development optimization since deeper understanding of reservoir changes during production could be extracted from the 4D products.
