Rancang Bangun Sistem Pencegah Pencurian Helm Menggunakan ESP8266 dan Sensor Ultrasonik Pada Kendaraan Bermotor

Motorcycle helmet security has become a crucial concern due to the rising number of theft cases, especially in public areas such as parking lots, shopping centers, and campuses. Losing a helmet not only causes financial losses but also creates inconvenience for riders in continuing their journey. To address this issue, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based security system has been developed using the ESP8266 module integrated with an ultrasonic sensor and buzzer. This system is also equipped with real-time notifications via a Telegram bot to provide early warnings to vehicle owners. The ESP8266 module serves as the central controller, ensuring the helmet is constantly monitored. When the ultrasonic sensor detects an unauthorized change in the helmet's position, the buzzer will sound as a local alert. Additionally, the system automatically sends a notification to the owner via the Telegram bot, including the event time and helmet status. With this notification, users can take immediate action to prevent theft. Testing results indicate that the system operates with high accuracy. The ultrasonic sensor, calibrated with a correction factor of 0.81, measures distance more precisely, reducing the average error from 0.64 cm to 0.03 cm. The NODE MCU ESP8266 efficiently processes sensor data and maintains a stable internet connection, while the Telegram bot delivers notifications in less than one second. With the remote control feature, users can manage the alarm more flexibly and conveniently.
