A familial early‐onset Crohn's disease‐based testing of a small bowel versus colonic location‐associated discovery gene network
What is Known IBD has a complex, polygenic genetic origin with multiple susceptibility genes. We recently reported candidate gene networks may direct disease location between small bowel‐predominant Crohn's disease (SB‐CD, L4b) or colon‐predominant CD (C‐CD, L2 and/or colon‐predominant L3). What is New Exome sequencing in a unique family refined CD location‐specific networks: SB‐CD: SVEP1, DSG1 SNPs were most discriminatory. C‐CD: ACACB, PDCD6IP SNPs were most discriminatory.
