An Analysis of Multidimensional Poverty in District Karak at Household Level

The aim of research is to find multidimensional poverty and its determinants at micro level and to magnify those determinants which increase the chance of falling in poverty for a household with reference to district Karak. PSLM 2019-20 survey data is used in the study. The households, whose deprivation score is more than the set threshold of 33% scores is considered to be multidimensional poor. The selected demographic and socio-economic characteristics of household are used as explanatory variables and multidimensional poverty status was used as binary dependent variable having outcome to be poor or non-poor. The binary logistic regression model has been fitted to estimate the probability of a household poverty status as affected by its determinants. The finding of the study is that gender, age, marital status, education and monthly income were impacting poverty status of households.
