Organizational Performance for Tourism Industry through Human Resource, Quality Service, and Tourism Development: Indonesian Tourism Perspective
This study aims to analyze the impact of human resources, service quality, and tourism development on the performance of the tourism industry. The tourism sector plays an important role in driving economic growth and improving people’s welfare. However, performance in this sector often faces challenges such as limited human resource skills, suboptimal service quality, and ineffective development strategies. In Rembang Regency, Central Java, the main challenges are the lack of human resource quality and the low quality of tourism services. This study uses a descriptive and quantitative approach, by collecting data from 156 respondents including tourist destination managers and tourism workers with at least two years of experience. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that human resources had a significant effect on service quality, which positively influenced the performance of the tourism industry. In addition, tourism development proved effective in improving industry performance. The findings emphasize the importance of human resource management, service quality improvement, and effective tourism development strategies in improving industry performance. This discussion provides valuable insights for policymakers, industry players, and local communities to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the tourism sector in similar regions.
