Thermal Monitoring of 100 KVA Transformer Operations at Remote Locations
Electricity has become an integral part of modern life and is equally used for domestic purposes and industrial services. The distribution of electricity utilizes transformers to either step down or step up the voltage levels depending on whether it is used for homes or industrial consumption. It is a monumental activity to maintain proper and safe usage of transformers, especially when dealing with remote areas. In this paper, the focus is on the significance of monitoring thermal parameters of transformers. It investigates the effect of load variations on transformer output. The aim of this study is to ensure that there is continuous power supply from thermal perspective, as a part of a larger study; that encompasses thousands of transformers operating at different rural and urban locations and also studies magnetism and fluid dynamics aspects.
