New Design of Wideband Antenna with Two-and-a-Half Circular Patch for C-Band Application
Long-distance communication requires an antenna design with wideband characteristics. A wideband antenna can receive a broad range of frequencies, and one type of antenna that supports satellite communication systems is the microstrip antenna. A microstrip antenna, designed with two half-circular patches, can operate optimally at frequencies between 4.5 GHz and 8.4 GHz with a bandwidth of 4000 MHz. Using two half-circular patches proves more effective in return loss simulations, achieving optimal results down to -25 dB. Circular-shaped patches can significantly increase the bandwidth compared to rectangular patches. The antenna dimensions need to be adjusted to precisely align the operating frequency within the 4 GHz to 8 GHz range. It should also be noted that the antenna dimensions will increase if the operating frequency needs to be shifted.
