LAPAROSCOPIC ROBOT-ASSISTED PROSTATECTOMY IN PATIENTS WITH BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA (LITERATURE REVIEW)

Annotation. The article presents a review of the literature over the past 15 years regarding the surgical treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. It was established that during this period of time, new surgical methods of treating benign prostatic hyperplasia appeared in the arsenal of urologists, namely: laparoscopic and robot-assisted prostatectomy (including single-port). These minimally invasive operations dramatically reduced the percentage of open prostatectomies by reducing the number of intra- and postoperative complications, reoperations, postoperative bed days, and wound pain. Laparoscopic robot-assisted prostatectomy, when compared with laparoscopic prostatectomy, allows for better visualization of the operative field, greater volume and accuracy of instrument movements in hard-to-reach areas, less intraoperative blood loss and postoperative bed-day. The authors presented the methods and results of laparoscopic robot-assisted prostatectomy according to the literature in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The introduction of robot-assisted prostatectomy will improve the results of treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia in Ukraine.
