Teacher migration is a global phenomenon that significantly impacts educational systems, particularly in developing countries. The province of Pangasinan in the Philippines has been experiencing teacher migration, leading to a shortage of qualified educators in local schools. This research aims to explore the reasons behind teacher migration from Pangasinan and develop a program to address the issue effectively.Migration is as old as the history of humanity.Today all over the world many people make one of the most challenging decisions in their lives: to leave their homes and townships in search of a safer or better life.Migration is a term that encompasses a wide variety of movements and situations that involve people of all walks of life and backgrounds.More than ever before, migration touches many countries and people in an era of deepening globalisation (Bimrose & McNair, Citation2011; International Organisation for Migration [IOM], Citation2017, Citation2018).The study focuses on Pangasinense teachers who have migrated from the Pangasinan region in the Philippines. The primary respondents of this study are the teaching employees who were resident and originated in Pangasinan and currently teaching outside the province of Pangasinan.Data collection and analysis will primarily be conducted within the Pangasinan region, targeting both current residents and those who have migrated.Teacher migration refers to the geographical movement of Pangasinense teachers from their original teaching location to another region or country. It includes both permanent relocation and temporary assignments. This study contributes valuable insights to the broader field of teacher migration research, shedding light on the multifaceted nature of this phenomenon.Further research may delve into the specific mechanisms through which civil status interacts with migration decisions, offering a more nuanced understanding of this relationship.Such knowledge can ultimately aid in the development of more precise strategies to enhance the quality of life for teachers and, by extension, the quality of education for students worldwide.
