Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS): Age-Related Outcomes and a Look into the Future
Age is not a significant predictor of 30-day morbidity, mortality, or survival outcomes in patients undergoing CRS-HIPEC. However, older patients require closer attention to discharge planning and readmission risk management. This study highlights the importance of comprehensive patient assessment beyond age and underscores the need for further research to better understand factors influencing outcomes in this population.
