Experiência interdisciplinar como instrumento de valorização e de conservação do patrimônio urbano e da paisagem

Seeking to understand which environmental and urban elements are part of a landscape with heritage value, the aim is to awaken the interest of the academic and external community in the need to conserve historic squares. Therefore, this article is an excerpt from the research “Palimpsest: the redesign of the landscape and the interventions of the PAC Historic Cities in the Center of Natal/RN”, which evaluates possible impacts of these interventions on public open spaces of heritage value. Through an interdisciplinary experience experienced by students of the Architecture and Urbanism course at UFRN and the research team, made up of professors and scientific initiation fellows, bibliographical research, behavioral mapping, which allowed on-site visits, and the assessment of the landscape based on observation of the landscape and analysis through photographic records. The main result is a partial survey of the use of completed squares, as well as an analysis of the proposed and executed solutions.
