SALAH FADL’A GÖRE YAPISALCI YÖNTEM: TEORİ ve PRATİKTE

Along with the minus of linguistic studies, the “structuralism method” has opened new eras in the field of literary criticism. This method, which puts the text itself at the center, has also attracted the attention of Arab linguists and has been tried to be understood and used as a method by many linguists. One of the prominent names in the field of literary criticism in the modern Arab World is Salah Fadl. The structuralist approach in the critical thought of the Egyptian critic Salah Fadl (1938-2022) used the theoretical material he acquired thanks to his connection with Western critical culture, solved the method and wrote works on the subject. Fadl, who attributed the innovations in the field of Arab Criticism to structuralism, imitated Western structuralism and placed it in a central place in his works. In the introduction of this study, we tried to explain the framework of the concepts of method and structuralism after discussing Salah Fadl's biography, his works on the subject and the scientific sources that influenced him. Then, we put forward three points in a practical way that Fadl's structural approach reveals itself in the practice of methodological criticism; These three points are the theory and methodology of structuralism that he founded, the second point is the method that he took and understood from the main books of structuralism, and the third point is the structuralist approach, in line with the critical concept, reflecting the foundations of theoretical formation and how they will be applied in literary works, we presented some examples of its use in literary texts in an applied, artistic and original way. Finally, we touched on the prominent findings of our study.
