REDUCING EMISSIONS AND IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO ENGINE USING DIESEL AND BLENDS OF TURMERIC LEAF OIL

The investigation of alternative fuels for internal combustion engines has prompted rising need for sustainable energy alternatives. In order to intensification efficiency and lower exhaust emissions, this study observes the effects of adding turmeric leaf oil (TLO) as a biofuel to variable compression ratio (VCR) engine.A single-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine running at varying compression ratios such as 19.5:1, 18.5:1, and 17.5:1, under varied loading conditions ranging from 5kgs to 9kgs was used for the trials. The performance of diesel blends including TLO in different ratios (B50, B60, and B70) was assessed in terms of braking thermal efficiency, volumetric efficiency, and specific fuel
