Abstract

The management of Mason type II radial h fractures is still de het ad.studies suggest that long-tam clinical results of both cocative and non operative treatments aregood. The mobilization prowcdl of the most citica point of disassion. Ourstudy am is to establish effedts of an immalise active elbow mobilization (I-RAM) on calavericmodels of radid head fracture. We performed Mason II radial head fractures on frozen intadhuman upper limbs. We than andlyzed the efliecs of I-R AM on calaveric model using Cone-BeamComputerized Tomogrphy (CBCT). A saisially significant aduction fragmentsafter fracture reduction and afler 0-30% range of motion was found. The 30-110% motion range wasnot abk w0 incxa fagmants distss wa Our stuly shows that an exrandy carly mobilizationMason 11 radial head fadure doe significantly incesse fragments displacement.Princigal limitations of this study are due to the use of a cadweric model, mainly the absence thehematoma and swalling developmant and fadux-assodaed sof-lissue injuries.
