Contact Interaction and Wear of Steel Component Parts with Cylindrical Friction Surfaces

This paper considers a contact interaction approach determining the characteristics of the contact interaction of cylindrical surfaces in friction by static computer-assisted tests of a model. These characteristics are the actual contact area, approximation of contact surfaces, actual pressure, and wear intensity of mating cylindrical surfaces. A kinetic wear model is suggested which considers the surface layer quality.

Abstract

This paper considers a contact interaction approach determining the characteristics of the contact interaction of cylindrical surfaces in friction by static computer-assisted tests of a model. These characteristics are the actual contact area, approximation of contact surfaces, actual pressure, and wear intensity of mating cylindrical surfaces. A kinetic wear model is suggested which considers the surface layer quality.
