Simulation of the Effect of Local Universities on Local Population Recovery to Solve the Problem of Local Extinction

As the population decline in non-metropolitan areas becomes more serious, the crisis of local extinction is growing. The central government’s Ministry of Education and local governments are promoting a new project called RISE to restore the local socioeconomic system through the innovation of local universities. The government expects that the local population will recover if local university graduates settle in the region through the performance of the RISE project. The purpose of this study was to identify how much local universities can contribute to the recovery of the local population through strategic projects such a s RISE . This study f irst a nalyzed the feedback s tructure t hrough which l ocal universities can contribute to the recovery of the local population, and analyzed how much local universities can actually contribute to the recovery of the local population through a simulation model. The results of the analysis showed that local universities have the potential to make a significant contribution to the recovery of the local population.
