Onde se fala de António Pedro – a partir dos seus pares e ímpares a propósito da consciência surrealista
Despite highlighting the importance of António Pedro (1909-1966) for the Portuguese literature and arts, critics such as Jorge de Sena and José-Augusto França repeatedly pointed out the lack of “surrealist consciousness” of that multiple artist. By interposing this theoretical question, we hereby discuss, although briefly, the place of António Pedro in Portuguese Surrealism and show, in a somehow late response or reparation, the signs of his (supra)consciousness in essays, literary artifacts and visual work.
