ANALYSIS OF THE USE OF AEROSOL (SMOKE) DEVICES IN MODERN COMBAT OPERATIONS
The article considers the relevance and effectiveness of the use of aerosol (smoke) camouflage means in the context of modern military operations and contains examples of the real use of special equipment for creating smoke screens during the performance of tasks by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The study analyzes various aspects of the use of weapons, military equipment and aerosols to protect troops and facilities from high-precision weapons. The main areas selected for analysis were a generalization of the current state of development of aerosol technologies, the effectiveness of their use in combat conditions, as well as the need to review the methods of using aerosol (smoke) means by units of radiation, chemical, biological protection in order to increase their effectiveness. The presented material also highlights the need for constant improvement in the planning and use of forces and means of aerosol counteraction against high-precision enemy weapons in accordance with the modern development of technical means of reconnaissance and destruction. Special emphasis is placed on the need for the earliest possible development, construction and commissioning of promising ground-based mobile robotic complexes with the possibility of installing small-sized special equipment on them for the rapid creation of aerosol (smoke) curtains. This will allow more effectively and qualitatively to perform tasks related to aerosol countermeasures against enemy weapons and high-precision weapons. Practice has proven that the active integrated use of aerosol (smoke) means can minimize troop losses in both manpower and equipment, and will also ensure their less visibility both on the battlefield and at various distances from the line of contact. The results of the analysis of this area of military activity are aimed at deepening the understanding of the potential and importance of aerosol technologies in modern military conflicts, their impact on the development of technologies for optimal use in order to ensure effective protection of our troops.
