A Security Data Transmission Approach based on IPv4 Extension Header in CPN
Computing power network (CPN) has been proposed to allocate computing, storage, network and other resources from cloud, edge computing pools through network. CPN can improve the utilization rate of computing resource pools. However, it brings another challenge that how to ensure the security during the data transmission. To solve this problem, we propose a security data transmission approach based on IPv4 extension in CPN. First, we propose a security data transmission architecture, then we design the IPv4 extended packet field format which can be attached to the option field of the IPv4 original header. Based on this format, the secret key and data can be embedded into the IPv4 extension header, then it can be transmitted at the same time. At last, we propose the process of security data transmission based on the architecture and IPv4 extended packet format. This method effectively protects the confidentiality of the data by transmitting the secret key along with the data and encrypting it during transmission. At the same time, because the secret key and data are packaged and transmitted together, it can also prevent attackers from tampering with the data and ensure data integrity. In the future, we will study other methods to improve the security of CPN.
