Tratamento de superfícies na Vila Belga: escolhas, impactos e relações com a paisagem urbana central de Santa Maria (RS)
The aim of this text is to analyze the results of the surface treatment in an intervention carried out in 2012 at Vila Belga, an architectural railway complex located in Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). Based on abibliographical review and documentary research, the aim is to gather the few records found so far about the colors adopted in the buildings to support reflection on the latest intervention, which adopted intense colors, like other national historic centers. The results allow to conclude that have reverberated more external trends than a surface treatment that reinforces local values, generating contrasts that until then had not existedbetween the complex and the urban landscape in which it is located.
