Prospects of Using Information Technology in Criminal Proceedings Within the Framework of Exercising Prosecutor's Authorities

The article examines the issues of implementing information technologies in criminal proceedings. An analysis of the capabilities of some information systems that could serve as a basis for creating an electronic document management system in criminal proceedings is conducted. The potential of the GAS "Legal Statistics", operated by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, is considered in detail as a basis for implementing the idea of an electronic criminal case, taking into account the existing capabilities of the system when implementing the prosecutor's powers in criminal proceedings.
