Robustness analysis of international pork trade networks under multi-strategy attacks
Pork is the primary red meat consumed globally. Given the rise in global pork trade, to explore the robustness of the nternational pork trade networks (IPTN) to trade shocks is necessary. In this paper, we construct network attack models and measure the robustness of the IPTN under simulated attacks in terms of network structure. The results show that IPTN has scale-free characteristics and global pork trade continues to increase. Secondly, the IPTN exhibits high resilience to random attacks but displays significant vulnerability to targeted attacks. Thirdly, maintaining stability and security in pork trade requires focusing on economies with significant export capacity or intermediary influence.
