Potential Analysis for the Installation of Floating Photovoltaic Plants Based on Hydro-Solar Complementarity in Brazil
This paper has objective to identify which Brazilian hydroelectric plants have the greatest potential for integrating floating photovoltaic solar plants through a strategic analysis of hydro-solar resource correlation in Brazil. Mapping has revealed significant potential for utilizing intermittent resources in plants located in the Northern and Northeastern regions for complementary operations, and in the CentralWestern, Southern, and Southeastern regions for similar integration. This study was essential for identifying energy production strategies amid the energy transition and validating the potential for efficiently expanding the country’s energy matrix.
